What you type into the calculators
Calculations run entirely in your browser. The numbers you enter are not sent to us or stored by us. They are kept only in the page address (so you can bookmark or share a result), which means they appear in your browser history and are sent to anyone you share the link with. The CSV export is created in your browser.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and measure page speed. A small script (from static.cloudflareinsights.com, or added by Cloudflare automatically) reads performance timings through your browser's Performance API and sends them, with the page address and referrer, to Cloudflare. Cloudflare's documentation states that Web Analytics "does not collect or use your visitors' personal data." We use only the aggregate reports; we set no analytics cookies. If analytics is not yet switched on for this site, no such script loads.
Server logs and hosting
The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and request details to deliver pages and protect the service. We do not run our own server logs or databases.
Cookies and storage
We set no cookies. If you use the theme button, your choice (light or dark) is saved in your browser's local storage on your device only.
If you email us, we receive your address and message and use them only to reply. We do not add you to any list.
Third-party content
Images are served from this site. Links to the IRS and other sites take you to those sites, which have their own policies.
